Visiting a zoo is about being transported to another world – a world where you are confronted by nature in all its beauty, adventure and mystery. A world where you are surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of various environments – the desert, the rainforest, the savannah or the sea.
Ark’s landscape designers are masters at creating these kinds of all-encompassing experiential worlds. The aim is not to replicate the exact original habitat of a species, but to capture its essence, and create something that is emblematic of a species’ habitat.
We take people on a journey to a totally different place. In this journey, visitors become part of the environment. It’s not about looking in from outside, but about people experiencing the environment for themselves, looking through the eyes of the animals and birds for whom this is their playground and their whole world.
