We believe zoo architecture is an integral part of the exhibit experience and the journey. Buildings are part of the landscape and when designed well, they show how to achieve conservation aims even with a built environment. In the hands of Phil Snowdon, our architect, they also delight and intrigue.
Phil’s structures of striking originality and innovation are a playful and clever response to the landscape and the habitat. In fact we would go so far as to describe them as art. At Ark, buildings and structures are always part of the adventure.
